October 20th, BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by President Easton Craft at 7:00PM. Board members in attendance: Easton Craft, Maggie Taber, Cindy Esselman, Jim McCulloch, Steve Johnston, Brian Branagan, B.J. Oneal, and Jim McCulloch.

PRESIDENT, Easton Craft –
No report provided.

VICE PRESIDENT/COMPLIANCE, Dave Fosmire –
NOTE: All Compliance hearings are held at the Innis Arden Clubhouse unless noted otherwise.

The compliance matters scheduled for hearings this month have been postponed as the neighbors and the board are waiting for movement from the city of Shoreline related to permitting.

BUILDING AND REMODEL, Cindy Esselman –

Harris Rebuild
18005 10th Ave NW

The discussion pertained to the view blocking elements of the proposed new construction.

The following motion was made:

I move to disapprove the Harris project at 18005 10th Ave NW due to the proposed build, specifically the covered patio structure and the northeast corner of the home, causing significant sound and mountain view blockage for the eastern neighboring property.

The motion passed unanimously.

Joseph Remodel
18008 13th Ave NW

The discussion focused on the impact of the proposed addition/remodel to two neighboring properties, to the north and south of the Joseph property.

After discussion it was proposed that a Board committee meet with the Josephs to review the remaining items causing view and negative outlook impact on the neighboring properties and that the Board would revisit at the November Board meeting.

The following motion was made:

I move to continue the Joseph remodel hearing at the November 10th  2020 Board meeting.

The motion passed with a Board vote of 6 approve and one abstention.

November Agenda:
Harris
18005 10th Ave NW
Rebuild

Joseph
18008 13th Ave NW
Remodel

TREASURER, Jeff Gough –
At the close of September, our Operating Checking was $19,775, Collections Savings was $257,401, and the Asset Reserve Savings was $295,878.

The exploratory committee between the HOA and Swim Club has been formed and two meetings have occurred.  Productive conversations are underway in regard to the potential of consolidating the Swim Club under the HOA; currently they are two separate entities, which creates some potentially unnecessary limitations, expenses, liabilities, and misalignment.

SECRETARY, BJ Oneal –
Because of COVID-19, the 2021 annual meeting scheduled for Wednesday 01/20/21 will be held via Zoom. A meeting notice will be sent to all community members beforehand. We are also in the process of updating the website to allow for online voting (vs. email voting) and directions for how to vote online will be forthcoming. PLEASE make sure to vote so that we get a quorum and are able to carry on with HOA business. In prior years we have had difficulty getting a quorum (we’ve even had to postpone meetings before) so it is imperative that every resident votes!

CLUBHOUSE, Brian Branagan
Clubhouse Report for October 2020

There are no scheduled Clubhouse rentals through the rest of 2020 because King County is in Phase 2, which limits gatherings to no more than five people outside your household per week. We will take rental applications after King County enters Phase 4 which allows gatherings for events with 50 or more attendees.

If you have questions about renting the clubhouse for events once King County enters Phase 4, please contact Cheryl Malone at 206-542-5558 or reservations@innisarden.org.

NATURAL RESERVES, Steve Johnston –
Maintenance
Routine trail maintenance and seasonally appropriate invasive control work continued in September.  Work will be done soon on the Boeing Creek pedestrian gate to make it easier to open.

Hazardous Trees
It has been difficult to schedule a City approved arborist to make a site visit to the Reserves to evaluate a number of dead or dying maple, alder and cherry trees, mostly in Blue Heron.  That visit was recently accomplished, and recommendations should be available within a couple weeks.
