INNIS ARDEN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
February 11, 2020
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by President Easton Craft. Board members present: Easton Craft, Maggie Taber, B.J. Oneal, Dave Fosmire, and Jeff Gough.
PRESIDENT, Easton Craft –
Storm Creek:
After several meetings with the City on way to proceed, the Club is awaiting a coordination meeting from the City. The meeting will include the neighbors and will cover a proposed memorandum of understanding regarding the costs and process for resolving the Storm Creek matter.
Hjelle:
Supplemental compliance hearing scheduled for Hjelle property on April 15, 6pm at the Club House.
Miscellaneous:
An Executive Session of the Board has been scheduled for the18th of March to discuss matters related to compliance on the Hjelle property as well as other legal matters.
VICE PRESIDENT/COMPLIANCE, Dave Fosmire –
NOTE: All Compliance hearings are held at the Innis Arden Clubhouse at 7:00PM unless noted otherwise.
The Joseph property (18008 13th Ave NW) vegetation compliance hearing will be held on 02/27/20 at 8:00PM at the Innis Arden Clubhouse.
The board received a new compliance request by residents at 824 NW Innis Arden Drive for several properties. The board spoke with those residents about ways to proceed to include trying to speak with the various neighbors. The board will also be including this topic for discussion as part of the upcoming Executive Session.
BUILDING AND REMODEL, Cindy Esselman –
The Twining residence

Patio roof addition
The proposed project is an addition to the roof of the house, extending to the west, covering an existing patio. The roof is designed to match an existing roof extension off of the master bedroom. All neighbors have signed off with no concerns and story poles have been up for over 30 days.
The board unanimously voted and approved the Twinning patio roof addition.

TREASURER, Jeff Gough –
$34,545 of annual dues were collected in January (though the bulk of that didn’t post to our bank account until the beginning of February). Additional dues of $138,180 have been collected in February through yesterday (2/10). There remains a balance of approximately $222,000 yet to be collected. If you haven’t sent in your dues yet, please do so by sending $735 with your lot number written in the “For” section of the check. Make it out to “The Innis Arden Club” and mail it to:

At the close of January, our Operating Checking was $10,563, Collections Savings was $3,364, and the Asset Reserve Savings was $295,827.
Secretary, BJ Oneal –
Due to the difficulty in obtaining a quorum for the past several years, the board will be considering ways to improve that dynamic to include using website voting system and ways to increase attendance at the annual meeting. The Activities Committee will add something into the welcome packet to assist here as well.
CLUBHOUSE, Brian Branagan –
Rentals:
January rentals included the Innis Arden HoA annual meeting, three resident rentals, and a bi-weekly exercise class.

GROUNDS, Jim McCulloch –
2020 Objectives for the Grounds Committee:
- Maintain and improve the existing lawn and planting beds around the Clubhouse
- Maintain the Innis Arden Main Entrance and other Innis Arden Entrances.
- Improve lawn areas by removing moss and re-seeding.
- Investigate Capital Repairs/Replacement for Parking Lot Railing and NW Retaining Wall

- Ground laurel stumps east of tennis courts and stump near SE corner of clubhouse.
- Accentuated Innis Arden Club sign in front of clubhouse by providing rock border. Thanks to Judy and Bob Allen for their help in design and procuring materials.

- Repaired Parking Lot light near pool area and replaced halogen bulb with LED.
- Spruced up minor entrances by adding river rock ground cover. Thanks to Judy and Bob Allen for their help in design and procuring materials.
Work Items Scheduled this Month:
- Continue weekly maintenance of Grounds and Entrances.
- Continue pruning of trees and clean-up of fall foliage.
ROW Trees
- 16904 14th Ave NW (Two 14” Spruce): Trees removed 9/10; replant completed 12/9; received final permit sign-off from City.
- 18522 Springdale Ct (One deciduous, three smaller dead trees): Permit is with City for their approval.

NATURAL RESERVES, Steve Johnston –
Trails
We repaired a handrail in Blue Heron and expanded a maintenance trail in Running Water
Native Plants and Invasive Control
We planted 100 Excelsa Cedar and 100 Shorepine in Bear, Running Water and Blue Heron in mid-January, and undertook seasonal invasive plant control (brush cutting blackberry cane and ivy grubbing).
