Letter from Swim Club President
Dear Swim Club Members and Innis Arden Residents:
The Swim Club recently sent a survey to all Innis Arden residents asking, among other things, for input on possible ways to finance a remodel of the pool house building. One of the options that was discussed in the survey was the Innis Arden Club (Homeowners’ Association) providing some funding of the remodel through a special assessment of all Innis Arden homeowners (i.e. not just Swim Club members). The survey responses clearly showed that such an assessment would not be approved by a majority of the residents of Innis Arden. Therefore, the Swim Club has no current plans to seek such funds from the Homeowners’ Association.
The Swim Club will be hosting a town hall meeting on January 28 to further discuss the survey results and financing options for the remodel. More information on that meeting will be sent in the next few days.
Several residents have asked the Swim Club to provide a statement on this topic prior to the upcoming Homeowners’ Association Board election. There appears to be some concern and/or rumors that certain candidates, if elected, may seek to assess the entire neighborhood to provide funding for the remodel. It is the Swim Club Board’s understanding that the Homeowners’ Association Board would not have the authority to issue such an assessment without a vote of the residents. More importantly, as stated above, the Swim Club has no current plans to seek such funds from the Homeowners’ Association. As stated in the survey, the purpose of the survey was merely to explore options, and it is clear from the responses that the option of assessing all residents is not currently viable.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact Lance Blair at president@innisardenswimclub.com or 206-719-7781. Please stay tuned for more details on the upcoming meeting to discuss the survey results and remodel project. Finally, please be sure to vote in the Homeowners’ Association election on January 20.
Best regards,
Innis Arden Swim Club Board
