Aurora Corridor Update

N 165th – N 185th Streets (Marshbank Construction)

This week, crews will:

  • Reduce lanes on N 185th Street to a single east and
    westbound lane for roadway excavation on N 185th Street west of Aurora.
    Crews will pave N 185th Street on Wednesday night.
  • Pave the middle of Aurora from N 175th to N 185th
    Street at night, Monday through Friday morning. Traffic will be reduced to
    one lane north and southbound on Aurora.
  • Continue sidewalk grading on N 175th Street west of
    Aurora. Traffic will be reduced to one lane east and westbound on N 175th
    Street.
  • Continue converting electrical, phone and
    communications services to new underground systems.
  • Continue planting and installing topsoil along Aurora.
    A single north and southbound lane on Aurora may be intermittently closed.

N 185th – N 192nd Streets (Johansen Excavating)

This week, crews will:

  • Continue controlling the intersection of Aurora and N
    192th Street with uniformed police officers as needed. Officers may at
    times prohibit left turns onto N 192nd Street due to significant backups
    on Aurora or for safety concerns.
  • Lay asphalt over newly installed services on Aurora.
    This work will take one to two days to complete and will require a single
    lane closure in the north or southbound direction.
  • Continue digging the joint utility trench (JUT) along
    the west side of Aurora between N 185th and N 192nd Streets during the
    day.
  • Begin JUT trenching on N 192nd Street east of Aurora.
    Traffic will be reduced to a single lane. Police officers and flaggers
    will assist with traffic control.
  • Continue retaining wall construction activities on the
    west side of Aurora near the Department of Licensing and begin excavating
    for the new Rain Garden Plaza near the Shoreline Park & Ride. This work may
    require periodic single lane closures on Aurora in the southbound
    direction and/or single lane closures on N 192nd Street in the eastbound
    direction.
