The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by President Cynthia Esselman. Board members present: Cindy Esselman, Omar Nur, Jason Barth, Bruce Vincent, Maggie Tabor, Bill Schilling and Jennifer Mace.
PRESIDENT, Cynthia Esselman –
The directories have been printed and should be in the mail by the end of the week to all households. Hard copies of the Board meeting minutes from July were mistakenly sent to all neighbors. After correcting the glitch, we will be resuming emailing newsletters to those who have opted for paperless copies.
VICE PRESIDENT/LEGAL AFFAIRS, Omar Nur –
Swim Club Lease Agreement has been completed by our special counsel and we will be reviewing this week before submitting to IASC for review and response.
Hjelle Property located at 18029 13th Ave NW, Shoreline WA has vegetation that is alleged to be out of compliance and no action has been taken by the home owner to address the issue. As a result, we have motioned to hold a compliance hearing scheduled for September 27, 2022 at 6:30 pm to address the potentially out of compliance Alaskan Cedar Tree on the Hjella Property. The motion was seconded and passed by the board. The board will be sending notice to the property owner regarding the hearing.
McHugh Compliance Hearing was cancelled to allow the parties and the club to work together to achieve compliance. The McHugh’s have agreed to speak with their neighbors to determine how to remedy the view blocking vegetation. We will touch base in the next week or two to check on the progress and plans.
Joseph Compliance Hearing was cancelled after the Joseph’s took action to remedy the issues that brought on the compliance hearing. While some neighbors are still concerned and frustrated by the appearance of the Joseph’s fencing and reflective coverings in their windows, these items do not violate the IAC covenants. Because of their efforts to improve the appearance of their property and to help facilitate the Joseph’s exterior remodel (which has now been submitted to the City of Shoreline for permitting), we made a motion to the board to extend the approval of their previously approved B&R plans through June 30, 2023. The motion was seconded and approved by the board.
Motion to have one to two Executive Sessions before September’s meeting was made, seconded and passed unanimously by the board.
BUILDING AND REMODEL, Jason Barth –
The following motion was made, seconded, and passed unanimously by the Board.
Approve the building of a garden shed as presented to the Board on the Schmidt property located at 18555 Springdale CT NW.
TREASURER, Jennifer Mace –
At the close of July, our Operating Checking was $ 103,312, Collections Savings was $10,174, and the Asset Reserves Savings was $ 441,201.
CLUBHOUSE, Mary Ruhlman –
There were four rentals in the month of July, one was sponsored by the Activities Committee. For the month of August, we have four rentals, none of which is sponsored by the Activities Committee.
If you have questions about renting the clubhouse, please contact Joy Griffith at 206-542-5558 or communications@innisarden.org.
NATURAL RESERVES, Steve Johnston –
Trails and Invasive Plant Control
July was hot and quiet in the Reserves. There is nothing much to report other than the fact that seasonal weed whacking and invasive control occurred as planned.
