Connor Austin graduated from Purdue in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, and a certificate in Systems. He plans to work in the field of aeronautics, where he is especially interested in aerodynamics and aircraft design. Connor has worked hard the last four years and his entire family is extremely proud of him. Congratulations, Connor!
Davis Campbell graduated from King’s High school and will be going to Whitworth University to study business and play football.
Nicholas Christianson graduated from Shorewood High School in June. He will be attending Gonzaga University this fall participating in their Honors program while pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Go Zags!
Ellie Dillard graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Ellie will continue her education at Seattle Pacific University in the fall pursuing a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She has thoroughly enjoyed her 4 years as a Husky and member of Gamma Phi Beta.
Mia Gerbino graduated from Holy Names Academy this Spring where she was salutatorian and National AP Scholar. While there she especially enjoyed participating in Robotics and Ultimate Frisbee. Next year she will study engineering at Tufts University.
Lewis Matthew Going graduated from Kings High School during this historic time. Lewis dove into many things throughout his high school career, including school leadership, improv, sports and robotics. We are so proud of Lewis, and excited to see what God has in store for him as he pursues his passion for music at Western Washington in the fall. We can’t wait to see his story unfold!
Emily Saige Joseph graduated from the University of Washington, on June 13, 2020. Emily successfully completed a double major in Physics and Material Science Engineering; and a minor in Classical Studies.
During her course of studies, Emily enjoyed a position as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Department of Physics. In addition, she volunteered in a physics research laboratory which focused on x-ray spectroscopy, where she attained the title of lead student investigator.
Emily is excited to announce that she will be heading to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, to pursue a PhD in Physics.
Needless to say, we are incredibly proud of, and in awe of, all of her many accomplishments throughout her years of education.
Sophia Keen is graduating from Shorewood high school and will attend the University of Washington Honors Program to study Pre-Science.
David Kumar graduated from Shorewood High School and will attend Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo this Fall where he will pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. In Shorewood, he participated in Varsity tennis.
Allison Larsen graduated from the University of Washington in June with a BS in civil and environmental engineering. Following graduation, she will be working as a transportation engineer at a consulting firm in Bellevue WA.
Nicholas Latz graduated in March of 2020 from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. Nicko will be joining the accounting firm Price Waterhouse Coopers, “PwC,” in their forensics department in San Francisco in the fall or winter, when the country reopens from this coronavirus. Congratulations to Nicko, from proud parents Vicky and Mark Latz!
Steven Lin would like to thank all his Syre, Einstein and Shorewood teachers/coaches who have made such a positive impact in Shoreline schools. He participated in varsity swimming freshman year, in addition to varsity tennis and varsity track all four years. He qualified for state in swimming and tennis, and he was a team captain for both tennis and track. Steven was actively engaged in many community service missions in our city and global medicine overseas, Shorewood leadership, National Honor Society, and Young Life and was selected Seahawks Century Link Student Athlete of the Week. Another highlight that Steven cherishes was swimming and playing tennis for Klahaya during the summers. He will attend Santa Clara University, planning to major in biology.
Casey Needham is a Senior, graduating from King’s High School. Casey was an all-state football player for King’s and went to state for their track and field team as a Junior (javelin), and he loves to surf. He has gone with missions teams to serve in Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Nicaragua and Jamaica. Casey will attend Baylor University in the fall as a business major.
Einar Christian Pedersen has lived in Innis Arden since he was born April 9, 2002. Einar has been actively involved at Innis Arden Swim Club where he was on Swim team/ Water Polo team as a child. He spent the last 4 years volunteering at the pool for the Swim Meets, alongside Leif Stenford as the heat board volunteer as well as other jobs when needed. He also can be found cleaning the pool bathrooms and pool deck during the summer. Einar is known for helping to start the recycling program at the Innis Arden Pool. At the young age of 8, he insisted with the manager that the pool recycled, so he would spend his evenings collecting recycling and dumping at his house since the clubhouse didn’t have recycling at that time. Einar will be graduating from Kings High School with Honors on June 21, 2020. At Kings, he has had a robust 4 years on the Varsity Robotics team, 4911 CyberKnights, where they have had a World Champion robot all 4 years. Prior to the Covid 19 shutdown, his team’s robot was placed #1 in the Pacific Northwest and had the highest ranking points in the World ( that’s out of 4,000 teams world wide) Einar has also been active in mentoring students in Unified Robotics, which is a division of Special Olympics which gives students with neurological differences the opportunity to learn how to build and program robots. Einar will be attending Purdue University in the Fall 2020, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Samantha Rand graduated from Shorewood High School in June. She has been a four-year varsity swim team member and advanced to state twice. She has been a varsity tennis team member for four years as well and captain her senior year. Samantha enjoyed being a member of DECA for two years at Shorewood and was also on the yearbook staff. Samantha swims on the Innis Arden Swim Club team and this summer will complete her 13th season. She also has worked at the Club as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Samantha will be attending Oregon State University in the Fall and will be majoring in Business.
Breanna Schuler graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School on Friday, June 5. Due to COVID-19, Bree plans to stay close to home this fall and will attend Western Washington University. She intends to major in neuroscience.
Molly Stamey graduated from Shorewood High School. She will be attending UW in the fall.
Lexi Suarez graduated from Lakeside High School. While there, she developed a passion for photography and her work has been featured on the school’s campus, website, and magazine. Some of her favorite pictures are the glorious sunsets from our own neighborhood. She balanced a rigorous academic load with her various other activities and interests, including tutoring and serving as a summer camp counselor at Turning Point and volunteering at Hopelink and the U-District Food Bank. She played club and/or high school soccer until her senior year when she worked at Trader Joe’s instead. She will attend the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis this fall.
Harry Suver graduated from University of Maryland, College Park, MD with a BS in economics. He’s seeking employment with commercial real estate development firms.
Soren Suver graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY with a BS in electrical engineering. He begins work in Buffalo, NY in June with Retech Systems LLC, a leading producer of titanium products.
Grace Taylor graduated from WSU with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She enjoyed many extra-curricular activities, including rowing for the Women’s Rowing Team, being a Resident Advisor for 2 years and finishing up as a University Recreation Manager, in addition to a Bowling Instructor! Grace has returned to the Shoreline area after finishing up an internship working with the WSU athletes and Nutrition. She will take some time off before pursuing graduate school.
Eden Isabel Mason Wenokur graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University with a Double Major in Spanish and Civic Communication and a Minor in American Ethnic Studies. While at Willamette, Eden worked as an Admissions Ambassador and as a Supervisor coordinating and generating content for the Admissions Office’s social media presence, as a Tutor in the Writing Center, and as a Teacher’s Assistant for College Colloquium. In 2018, Eden was an exchange student in Quito, Ecuador where she lived with a host family, attended university and a language intensive, and volunteered at the Botanical Gardens. Born and raised in Seattle, Eden graduated with a IB Diploma from Ingraham High School and attended Salmon Bay School from K-8. Although graduating in 2020 is a challenging prospect, Eden is ready to “turn knowledge into action.” Her parents, Alan Wenokur and Cameron Anne Mason, couldn’t be prouder of her. Go Eden!
Aristides “Ari” Webb graduated from Shorewood High School this year. He plans to attend Stanford University and would like to study Philosophy and Computer Science.
